Sponsor Books for Disadvantaged Youth

Give Back Prince William is pleased to partner with local author and poet Katherine Gotthardt in providing free copies of her poetry books and inspiring creative writing workshops for disadvantaged students in our communities. Katherine has already donated more than $3,000 in books, art kits, and other gifts to youth, non-profits and area advocates. We’re taking it to the next level by inviting the community to help. Consider sponsoring a book donation. Your small gift will enable a young person to meet a local author and learn to use writing as a positive mechanism for creativity and self-expression. A few dollars goes a long way toward making a big difference in the lives of our youth!

Why poetry and creative writing? They put the STEAM in STEM education by:

  • Developing a different set of thinking skills, including creative and abstract thinking
  • Improving language and communication skills
  • Teaching empathy and self-awareness
  • Offering multiple mental health benefits
